greyhounds and galgos

GACI is an Italian volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue of Greyhounds and Galgos (Spanish Sighthound),
finding them a permanent home. These dogs all come from a tormented past: some of them were racers, others were used for hunting. Each and every one had to go through a tough selection and many die in their early years.
Perhaps they are not fit enough physically, perhaps they are too shy, or they might have no success as runners
or are just too scared of the sound of rifle shots, and in a blink of an eye they are discarded,
perhaps suppressed, or just abandoned to die.
