1 in 8 women - breast cancer diary

That's what happens when you have to go through something like breast cancer.

Months of treatment when you start asking yourself what's happening.
'Cause it’s something it's supposed to happen to others and you'd really never thought you could be one of these others.

Though "cancer" doesn't always mean you're dying. I've never thought about that as it was something insurmountable, but just a positive and transformative time of my life.

Thanks to everyone who’s been around, for the cakes and the smiles.
And remember, you're never too young to start being careful with your body.

"When people would talk to me about, "You're gonna beat this," or “You're gonna slay cancer," or "You're gonna..."
I would say what I'm gonna do, hopefully, is become more of who I was meant to be.
And cancer has given me this huge, dramatic, turbulent opportunity to do that."
